Cikkel Copenhagen - the idea
Cikkel was founded in Copenhagen - where cycling is deeply rooted in the City DNA.
Each and every one of our designs is a tribute to cycling heritage: riders, teams and classic races.
We want to contribute to the growing cycling scene by making casual wear that appeals to cycling fans.
The name Cikkel Copenhagen
The name Cikkel [sigəl] is inspired by the old way of pronouncing "cykel" (bicycle) in Danish. Especially in Copenhagen. And that's how Cikkel Copenhagen came about!
Copenhagen is the number one cycling city
Our name celebrates the fact that Copenhagen is the world's best cycling city.
A few facts:
Copenhagen has around 1.3 million inhabitants, but more than 672,000 bicycles!
More bicycles than cars travel through the city centre, and Copenhagen has more than 383 kilometres of cycle path.
44% of all journeys to school or work are made by bicycle.
Every day, residents cycle more than 1.4 million kilometres.
