At Cikkel Copenhagen, we are proud to have been chosen to create this year's Copenhagen Sprint t-shirt designs, made in close collaboration with the team behind the UCI race. We look forward to the cycling celebration and to meeting cycling fans at the official Copenhagen Sprint pop-up shop in the finish area near the National Gallery of Denmark.
SMK designed
Cikkel Copenhagen has created a design that celebrates the joy and excitement of Denmark hosting a UCI race. The design combines the dynamic, cycling-inspired expression of Copenhagen Sprint with Cikkel Copenhagen's unique design DNA.
The background symbolizes speed, dynamism, and progress. Like light beams in the sky, it celebrates the race with the beautiful building of the National Gallery of Denmark as a backdrop. The museum will once again this year host the finish line area. At the bottom of the t-shirt is a short text that presents Roskilde as the starting city and the cycling-loving public celebration that culminates in royal Copenhagen.
The t-shirt is available in off-white and classic navy blue.

Cycling is returning to Denmark with a bang, as Copenhagen Sprint 2026 takes place on June 13–14. As an official one-day race on the UCI World Tour calendar, this is not just another cycling event – it solidifies Denmark's status as one of the world's leading cycling nations. With a secured World Tour license until 2031, organized in collaboration with the Danish Cycling Federation (DCU) and Copenhagen Municipality, the stage is set for a new, annual cycling monument on Danish soil.

The Route: From North Zealand Crosswinds to a Copenhagen Finale
The route for Copenhagen Sprint is designed to create dramatic and unpredictable cycling. The starting gun fires in historic surroundings at Roskilde Cathedral on Stændertorvet, after which the peloton moves north through the North Zealand landscape – through the municipalities of Egedal, Frederikssund, Hillerød, Fredensborg, Allerød, Furesø, Ballerup, Rødovre, Brøndby, and Hvidovre.
The key to success on the first 176 kilometers lies in mastering the notorious Danish crosswinds on the Zealand country roads. Teams will fight fiercely for position, and we can expect to see the peloton splinter into merciless echelons long before they reach the city limits. Here, classics specialists with experience from Paris–Roubaix and Gent–Wevelgem will have a clear advantage.
When the riders hit Copenhagen via Vigerslev Allé, the race changes character completely. The final laps on the 10 km circuit offer technical turns in Copenhagen's medieval city. Here, the sprint teams will try to control the race and set up a perfect lead-out for the finale.
The finale is tailor-made for a thrilling sprint towards the finish line at Statens Museum for Kunst (National Gallery of Denmark) on Sølvgade – a run-in reminiscent of the great classics, which will decide who can raise their arms in triumph on Danish soil.
🔑 Tactical key: Echelon and crosswind
On the open stretches in North Zealand, teams will try to split the peloton with echelon formations – fan-shaped lines across the road that maximize the use of crosswinds. Riders who lose contact here may have difficulty rejoining. Expect drama as early as 80–100 km from the finish.
Spectator Guide: How to Experience Copenhagen Sprint 2026
Experiencing a UCI World Tour race live is a unique experience. However, getting the most out of the day requires some planning. Copenhagen will be packed with cycling fans, and traffic will be heavily affected throughout the weekend.

1. Dronning Louises Bro (Queen Louise's Bridge)
An iconic spot for cycling culture in Copenhagen. Fantastic atmosphere with the lakes in the background. Riders pass here at high speed on their way to the city center – perfect for action photos.
2. Slotsholmen / Christiansborg
The technical turns around Christiansborg will stretch out the peloton and give you plenty of time to spot your favorite riders. Historic backdrop with Christiansborg Palace provides spectacular images.
3. Rådhuspladsen (City Hall Square)
The heart of the circuit. Perfect for feeling the rush as the peloton speeds past at full throttle. Stand here during the final laps when the intensity is at its highest.
🚇 Transport and Parking
Forget the car. The circuit in Copenhagen will be closed to traffic from Saturday at 06:00 to Sunday evening at 20:00. The absolute best way to get around is by public transport (Metro) or on your own bike.
- Metro: Runs frequently and stops close to all key points. Use Rejseplanen.dk to plan your route.
- Event ticket: Buy a DOT event ticket – one adult can bring two children under 12 for free. Valid for 12 hours.
- Bicycle: The ultimate way to experience the race – clear your route via Rejseplanen and find open paths.
- Car: Use the motorways, which are open all weekend. Park on the outskirts and take the Metro in.
⏰ Important times: Traffic gates closed Saturday 13/6 at 13:00–17:30 and Sunday 14/6 at 10:00–16:30. Plan your trip well in advance!
